One Missed Call…

November 24, 2008

This is my second completed song. The tune needs some work and perhaps some rearranging but the lyrics are basically set in stone. The general idea of the song is kinda the cliche “love” song, but I like the words so I think it’s going to stay. I think it sums up many of the feelings that sometimes myself, and friends, feel about love or just wanting to hear someone’s voice. Enjoy.

One Missed Call

Dedicated to John Spalding IV

Sitting on my bed, waiting for the call from you…

I don’t care what you have to say, say anything at all…

Just wanna hear your voice, hear it loud and clear…

But then I realize that phone ain’t gonna ring…

So I walk away and come back later to see…

One missed call…

One missed chance to say “I love you”…

One missed call…

And all I wanted was just to hear your voice….

Driving down the highway, 60 miles an hour…

Listening to my favorite song, singing ‘bout happy days…

You tried calling me, as I kept on singing…

I didn’t hear your simple call, missed the chance to hear you…

So I stop at the next light, only to see…

One missed call…

One missed chance to say “I love you”…

One missed call…

And all I wanted was just to hear your voice….

I tried to call you…

Waiting for you answer…

Just a couple rings, and then your “please, leave a message”…

My one missed call…

And all I wanted was just to hear your voice…

Scrooge: the musical

October 2, 2008

I am currently in Musical Theater of the Southwest’s 2008 production of Scrooge the musical. I would tell you what characters I play but since I will be playing multiple ones I’m gonna keep this as short and sweet as possible:

-Mary, Topper’s wife.

-Bess, the apple merchant.

- Dick Wilkin’s love interest.

-Partyguest/ Chorus member.

Yeah, right now other roles are up in the air but as soon as I know I will blog about it…so here’s to an early MERRY CHRISTMAS!

It is finished…

October 2, 2008

After almost two months of working on it I finished my song “It’s okay.” Right now I’m looking into copyrights, etc. The lyrics you see in the post below are not the final product either.  It’s just a glimpse at what it sorta looks/sounds like.

God definately gave me the words to say in my songs. I had orginally written this for some friends and I thought I would be doing them a blessing by doing it for them. Ultimately I realized that God gave me this song for Me, firstly, and then for others. Cool, huh?

I will post the all-most final product:

It’s Okay

Deticated to Yenssi Machado,

the family of Ken Meyers, and Emily Stauffer …

My world comes crashing down, crumbling all around

Darkness closes in, I can’t run no more

I’m crying all alone, no one even cares

“maybe it’s not worth it, maybe it’s all lie”

“No one can see, No one can hear, no one can love me…”

But then I hear a voice that’s callin’ out my name, and it’s saying:

It’s Okay. I am here by your side. I won’t forget you or ever let you go.

It’s Okay. When troubles come your way, I am here and you are mine.

It’s Okay.

Did ya hear that voice, speakin’ words of truth?

Did you see the sun shine on my broken world…

I will listen, I believe, and I believe the words of life

Can you listen? Can you hear it, can you hear the voice?

Can you hear the voice that’s callin’ out your name and saying:

It’s Okay. I am here by your side. I won’t forget you or ever let you go.

It’s Okay. When troubles come your way, I am here and you are mine.

It’s Okay.

(the voice: ) You won’t fall down again, I’ll pick you up…

Won’t walk in darkness ‘cause  I AM the light…

We’ll rise about the mountains, and forever fly…

Even though you’re all own, I AM  by your side…

Cause I AM that voice that’s callin’ out and I Am sayin’:

It’s Okay. I am here by your side. I won’t forget you or ever let you go.

It’s Okay. When troubles come your way, I am here and you are mine.

It’s Okay.

It’s okay…

September 20, 2008

It’s okay, I am here by your side. I won’t forget you or ever let you go.

It’s okay, when troubles come your way, I am here and you are mine.

It’s okay.

This is just a little chorus for a song that I’ve been tinkering with. It’s a working progress, but hopefully I’ll actually get a whole song out of it….
